Connect Four
Drop your discs and be the first to line up four in a row against a smart computer opponent.
How to Play Connect Four
Connect Four is a two-player strategy classic. Players take turns dropping colored discs into a seven-column grid, and the discs stack from the bottom up. You play red against a smart computer opponent. The first to line up four of their discs in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — wins the game.
Controls
- Click or tap a column to drop your red disc
- The computer drops its yellow disc automatically
- Use the New Game button to start over
Tips & Strategy
- Control the center column — it's part of the most possible winning lines.
- Always check whether the computer is one move from four in a row and block it.
- Set up 'double threats' so the computer can't block both at once.
- Think vertically and diagonally, not just across — diagonal wins are easy to miss.

What's the best opening move?
Dropping your first disc in the center column is widely considered the strongest opening in Connect Four.
Can the game end in a draw?
Yes — if the board fills up completely without either side connecting four, the game is a draw.
