Minesweeper
Clear the minefield without detonating a bomb. Use the numbers to deduce where the mines hide.
How to Play Minesweeper
Minesweeper is a classic logic puzzle. The board hides a number of mines beneath a grid of tiles. Reveal tiles to clear the field, but if you uncover a mine, the game is over. Each revealed number tells you how many mines touch that tile, and you use those clues to deduce where the mines are. Flag the mines and clear every safe tile to win.
Controls
- Left-click or tap to reveal a tile
- Right-click to place or remove a flag
- Long-press on mobile to flag a suspected mine
Tips & Strategy
- Your first click is always safe — start in the middle to open up a large area.
- Use the numbers to deduce guaranteed mines and guaranteed safe tiles.
- Flag mines you're certain about to keep track and avoid accidental clicks.
- When stuck, look for tiles where the number already equals its flagged neighbors.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the numbers mean?
Each number indicates how many of the eight surrounding tiles contain a mine, which lets you deduce safe and dangerous tiles.
Is the first click safe?
Yes — the mines are placed after your first click, so you'll never lose on your opening move.
How do I win?
Reveal every tile that doesn't contain a mine. You don't have to flag the mines to win, but it helps you keep track.
